This model requires two pieces of origami paper. The first will be used to make the body of the phoenix. It must be the same color on both sides. The second will be used to make the head of the phoenix. You can use foil paper or standard origami paper for the second piece of paper, but the color must be different from the first piece of paper. For best results use foil paper for the second piece of paper.

[1] Fold the first piece of paper in half, then unfold.	[2] Cut a small square from the second piece of paper. The sides of the small square should be 1/6 the length of the first square. Glue the small square to the bottom corner of the first square.
[3] Fold the bottom point upwards to create a triangular flap. The height of the triangular flap should be roughly equal to the distance from the top point of the flap to the top corner of the model.	[4] This is how the model should look after completing step 3. Note that the height of the triangular flap is roughly equal to the distance from the top point of the flap to the top corner of the model. For step 4, fold the tip of the triangular flap down to form the phoenix's head.
